What Does The Rubber Surface Consist Of ?

Our rubber surface consists of small EPDM rubber granules and mixed with a specially formulated resin.

Who Uses RhinoRoc Surfacing ?

It is used on any surface that needs a permanent, non-slip, resilient surface. RhinoRoc creates a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing surface for any wet deck.

How Is The Safety Surface Installed ?

There are usually two installers and one mixer on site depending on the size of the installation. The rubber granules arrive in bags and the resin in buckets. It is then mixed and trowelled on site to the specifications of the client.

IS THE RUBBER SURFACE SLIPPERY WHEN WET ?

The rubber surface has a non-slip texture, when it is wet the grip increases. Very similar to a rubber bath mat.

HOW WILL WINTER AFFECT THE RUBBER SURFACE ?

Our systems have been proven to cope with the harshest environment including the scorching deserts of Arizona and the harsh winters of Canada.

WILL THE COLOR FADE ?

Our rubber safety surfacing is UV stable and is highly used in Australia which is one of the harshest environments for ultra violet light.

IS RHINOROC TESTED ?

Rhinoroc has undergone many tests over the years including UV stability, critical fall heights, stain resistance and fungus & bacteria growth. Each test has passed with flying colours. All Rhinoroc rubber surfacing materials have ISO 9002 certification and have been tested by the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation).

CAN I SALT IT ?

Yes! One of the many advantages of EPDM rubber over similar products is that it has a very high chemical resistance.

CAN I SHOVEL IT ?

Yes, once cured your rubber surface can be shoveled and needs a hammer and a chisel to be removed. It can also be plowed with a tractor.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ?

RhinoRoc offers a 10 year warranty on any defects of the materials and a 5 year warranty on installation.

DOES THE RUBBER SURFACE GET HOT IN THE HEAT ?

It is much cooler than asphalt and concrete in the heat because the rubber granules create a porous surface which traps moisture and allows air flow to keep your surface nice on cool for those hot summer days.

WILL THE RUBBER SURFACE DELAMINATE IN THE FREEZE/THAW CYCLE ?

The rubber safety surface has been designed and tested to remain stable throughout all winter conditions.

WHAT SUB BASE CAN THE RUBBER GET INSTALLED OVER ?

RhinoRoc can be installed over most solid substrates, such as concrete, Uni-stone, compact crush stone, wood, aluminum and steel.

CAN IT BE INSTALLED BOTH INDOORS AND OUTDOORS ?

Yes, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE WATER THAT DRAINS THROUGH ?

The water filters through to the sub base and drains naturally in the direction of slope it is installed over.

HOW DO I GO ABOUT CLEANING MY RUBBER SUFACE ?

Our rubber surface requires regular cleaning, usually just once a year after the snow has melted. Pressure washing is the most common method, used with a mix of soap, any other special cleaners can be used for stubborn stains.

WHAT IF THE RUBBER SURFACE NEEDS REPAIRS ?

The rubber based material is quick and easy to repair. We simply cut out the damaged area and re-pour a new mixture of rubber and resin in place for a seamless repair.

HOW SOON CAN I WALK ON IT ?

The surface is usable after 24 hours of drying in most cases.

WHAT COLORS DOES THE RUBBER COME IN?

We have standard rubber surfacing colors for your convenience. Because we use rubber granules, custom colors can be provided to fit the customer’s needs.

HOW THICK IS THE RUBBER APPLIED TO THE SUB SURFACE?

The rubber is applied to the surface at a quarter inch thick.
